How it works

  1. Settle the question

Write your question in one sentence and pick a topic. Once casting starts, the question can no longer change.

  2. Cast six lines

Digital yarrow odds build one line at a time, stacking from the bottom up.

  3. Read the hexagram

Only the confirmed judgment and line texts of your primary and related hexagrams are used for the reading.

Frequently asked

How does an I Ching reading work?
You settle your question in one sentence, then cast six lines one at a time from the bottom up. The six lines form your primary hexagram, and any changing lines produce a related hexagram, so you read both where you stand and where it moves.
How is it different from Saju or tarot?
Saju reads the energy of your birth moment and tarot reads your present state of mind. The I Ching reads one question through the structure of a hexagram — where you stand and which way it is moving — which suits questions right before a decision.
Can I ask the same question again?
Lines are generated fresh each time, so the result can differ. Rather than repeating the same question, it helps to narrow it down and ask something more specific.
